Best Birthday Present EVER
Let it snow
Let it Snow
Let it Snow
Oh my white fluffy cold friend, how I've missed you dearly. I simply cannot wait to build a snowman out of you and go sleding, that is...if we can find a hill...

Hope, Change and Wishes
This evening as I arrived home there shone a single bright star in my view in the black night sky. I haven't wished on a star in a long time, I can't even remember when it was. Tonight, I wished on a star.

What an awesome day it was. I attended Belleville's Character walk in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. with some great gals and a couple hundred other people. It was amazing to see all these people walking to honor Dr. King. We marched to St. Elizabeth's hospital to watch the inauguration; beforehand we listened to a few speakers, including the President of the hospital and the mayor. A great group of young singers from Belleville West sang a most fitting song, 'Let There be Peace on Earth'. I do agree it was quite fitting, given the reason we were there.

Today we witnessed history, the inauguration of Barack Obama. Some thought we would never live to see the day. But today our first African-American President was sworn in to office. What a historic event.
But I feel like this is so much more, I feel like there is hope on the horizon and that change is coming. As much as everyone hates change, Change is good. We have to change, and evolve as a nation if we are to continue to survive as a nation.
Tonight I wished on a star for hope. I hope Obama can lead us into change. I hope that congress can help him keep his vision and ideas. I hope we can see major health care reform over the next years. I hope people can just learn to trust and learn to try something new. I hope that in four years we can look back and smile at what has transpired. I hope that our children will soon always have adequate health care and educational opportunities. I hope that with the help of congress and the nation we can slow or reverse the damages we are doing to our planet. Because, our planet will always survive, it can adapt and change, and hopefully we also can.
So, if you get a chance, wish on a star. Wish for Hope. Wish for Change.
