I decided to take a break from, well, everything and take Morgs to Six Flags. I made the decision last night for the trip and decided not to tell Morgs just where we were going.
After a lazy morning of mom sleeping in while lil M played play dough and got her own breakfast (damn I'm loving this kid more and more each day)I packed our water bottles, snacks and picnic lunch (which we didn't eat by the way, giant pretzel temptations...)we headed to points unknown. As we neared our exit I asked lil M if she knew where we were going. I assume she recognized some of the geographical markers and guessed we were going back to our Easter break destination, Branson. And guessed Silver Dollar City..
Side note: this child has one phenomenal memory. Seriously...its scary. I really need to start watching what I say around her...
As we approached the exit I encouraged the young one to shift her gaze to the right, where she saw the park. Immediately she zoomed into the Ferris wheel, and proceeded to recall the story of last year's (note: 2 years old) visit to Six Flags, where we couldn't go on the Ferris wheel due to a swarm of bees gathering at the top. Like I said...damn, what a memory...
Lil M was ecstatic and that just made my day.
We had a wonderful day riding all the rides she was big enough for. I made a conscience decision to leave my phone in the car. I was with the most important person in my life so really, why did I need my phone? I did not want to be bothered. I let M run the day, ride what she wanted (and was able) to ride, as many times as she wanted. Although I did interject at spending too much time at the playground, I mean really. I can go to a playground for FREE!!!
It was so nice to just spend the day with my lil gal with no worries of the time or no access to phone/email/text. Letting her call the shots. All in all we had a fantastic family day.
